"The shining jewel of Island hospitality...Exceptional cuisine...and a yacht, a serious one, to take one away on picnics in season to secret places!"
Sabine Bouvet, Air France Madame Magazine, August 2013
"The highlight of my reporting trip to Scotland was cruising in the Hebrides on the yacht of Ken and Ann, owners of Duisdale House on Skye. An idyllic experience worth of the Greek Islands!"
Irene Skakounis and Bill Rintoul, Laterlife.com (December 2012)
“One of the premier places to dine on Skye … The cuisine was excellent, the decor very tasteful and the staff made us feel very much at home. A mouth-watering selection of canapés… the main courses were all so delicious it’s hard to decide which was the best...The desserts were seriously wicked. The dining room had a lovely, intimate atmosphere with tables romantically set for two. Whether you're looking to just get away from it all, have a romantic break or pursue some more energetic outdoor pursuit, Toravaig House Hotel fulfils all your requirements and more.”
Angela McKean, Scotland on Sunday, November 2012
“Duisdale offers a memorable experience…. The entire team is warm, welcoming, chatty, helpful, smiling. The list could go on – truly top notch. Our bay window offered marvellous views across the Sound of Sleat, the perfect morning invitation to escape from under the sumptuous down duvet bedecking the four-poster. The daily set menu includes creative dishes using the best local produce, all beautifully presented. Over at Toravaig House my scallops were quite simply the best I’ve tasted.”
John Humphries, Scottish Islands Explorer, August 2012
“I discovered that Skye can indeed be heavenly …award-winning establishments for design and decor, comfort and cuisine. Ken and Anne have invested resources, energy and time into the creation of their hotels, with a particular attention to detail that is compelling to observe… so much pleasure-in-plenty. Above all there is that sense of welcome, following the Gaelic precept of ‘befriending the stranger.’
Scottish Field - Roy Summers (August 2012)

Can I give you and your team my immense thanks and praise for the fantastic meal and organisation at the lunch extravaganza on Saturday. Callum's fiddling was a superb backdrop during the champagne starter and Toravaig did indeed fully live up to it's well deserved reputation and my retirement has now been well and truly kick started in the most exceptional and memorable fashion. Jane and I now have the reason and the desire to return to Toravaig to soak up even more !
