We love our beautiful Island and are delighted when guests opt to join us on our daily sailing trips around Skye on board our luxury yacht Solus na Mara. We can think of no better way to spend a day than a sailing break in the waters around Skye enjoying the wonderful views and spotting the plentiful wildlife as we slice through the water.
Sailing on Solus na Mara, 42’ Jeanneau Sun Oydessy is a top activity. Experience the thrill of the vessel cutting through the waves in silence. See Scotland from the sea. Out and about to Inverie, Loch Nevis, Loch Hourn, Eigg and Rhum depending on the direction of the wind. The destination is dependent on wind direction and strength of wind. To get the sails up and the engine off is key. Enjoy the island landscapes from the sea in the company of Ken and Anne, Yachmaster and Day Skipper. Anne was born and brought up on Skye and is a native Gaelic speaker. Ken, a Master Mariner, has vast sea going experience, and is of island extraction. You sure will enjoy the day!
A delicious freshly prepared lunch is served on board together with a glass of wine.
This is the most enjoyable of experiences and therefore adviseable to register your interest at the time of booking as there are only six guest spaces per day.
Maximum weight 16 stones and demonstrating a good fitness level.
Suitable sailing shoes (no hiking boots please) and warm waterproof clothing required.
