Sailing on Solus na Mara is an activity offered by the owners, Ken and Anne, exclusively to their guests. Whether resident at Toravaig or Duisdale, guests can enjoy this daily excursion into the Sound of Sleat and out to the small islands of Rhum and Eigg or into Loch Nevis or Loch Hourn on the mainland.
The day will start around 10.30 am and sailing is the priority. The direction of wind usually indicates the route for the day which will be filled with much laughter and joy whilst in search of sightings of whales, dolphins, basking sharks, seals and seabirds. A freshly prepared lunch is served on board together with light refreshments.
Ken has a wealth of experience being a Master Mariner and a Yachtmaster having sailed worldwide during his career at sea and has vast knowledge of the sailing waters and weather patterns of the West Coast of Scotland. Together with his First Mate, Anne, a Day Skipper, they will entertain and look after your every need throughout the day.
No previous experience is necessary.
